Reposting this since new journals pushed it out of sight and idk how to pin it... and frankly I kinda need the money.
I've been writing a lot lately, and I recently learned that there was a market for writing commissions. I've done some writing for art trades in the past, but only rarely, and I never really considered offering my writing services for money. Now that I know there's actually some demand for this sort of thing though, I think it'll be fun to do, and if I can make money through commissions then I can purchase commissions myself... or just supplement my income and try to salvage my financial situation...
So let's give it a go, I'm officially opening myself up for commissions.
Some ground rules to establish
- I've typically avoided NSFW writing in the past, and have little experience with that sort of writing, but I will accept commissions involving it, just be aware that it is new territory for me.
- I reserve the right to refuse a commission whose content makes me uncomfortable for whatever reason, particularly when it comes to NSFW stuff
- I will not do any writing that relates to real world politics or religions, there's more than enough writing out there aimed to make people angry and start fights, I'm not going to add to that mess, even if we happen to be on the same side of whatever debate you want me to write on. Just don't even ask
- My regular job and responsibilities takes precedence over writing the commissions. Unless you own some sort of company and want to take me on full-time, I've got to focus on the job that is going to consistently pay my bills each month. That being said I will work on any commissions I take as quickly as I can.
- Since I will be charging on a word-count basis, it is possible that I will go over the originally intended word count. Depending on how far over the word count I go, I may or may not ask for payment for the additional words written. I am fine with going a bit over the limit for free if it means making a better story in the end, but if you commission me for 1000 words and the story take 3000 to complete... well at that point I kind of have to charge accordingly.
I may edit or add to those rules as I figure out exactly how I want to handle things. I'm new to the commission scene so I'll need to do some trial and error for my operating procedures at first.

Now for pricing
These prices may change in the future, but if you've commissioned me at a price, you will not be expected to pay more if the price rises later.
The base price for any given commission is
$2.50 - 550 words

I also offer OC creation/consultation services. Want an OC made for a fandom, but can't seem to come up with any ideas? I've got you covered, I'll make an OC for you based on whatever specifications you give, granting you a beautiful new brainchild to use as you see fit.
Or perhaps you have an OC but there's some aspect of them you're working on that you just can't seem to work out the details for. Perhaps you need a unique ability for them but nothing is coming to mind, or you have to make a backstory for them and can't come up with anything. I'll help you work through whatever snag you've run into that's making it hard for you to flesh out and develop that lovely brainchild of yours.
$3.00 - OC creation
$1.00 - OC consultation
Disclaimer: depending on the fandom, these commissions may take longer to complete than an average commission, as if I am unfamiliar with the source material, it may prove difficult to make headway on it. That being said, I've watched a LOT of shows, played a lot of games, and read a lot of books, odds are this problem shouldn't come up too often.
